Seekers Notes: Hidden Mystery is a hidden object adventure game. It’s one of the better ones out there. The artwork is colorful and detailed, the puzzles are cleverly designed, and the story is very well written. But do these things really make a game more interesting? Secrets seems
First of all, there’s the story. A story full of puzzles and secrets seems more intriguing to the player, and as such, they become the most important part of the game. You’ll spend much of your time overcoming all the challenges this game puts you in, and your adventure will vary based on the environment you visit.
However, as you play through each chapter of Seekers Notes: Hidden Mystery, you’ll notice that the layout and design of the room you’re in also have a large effect on how challenging things get.
Content of the game
Now, let’s talk about the actual content of the game. You can only carry one object when you use the Seekers Notes: Hidden Mystery android app, which helps you save time and effort as you investigate every nook and cranny of your environment. The game mostly takes place in a house that has apparently gone missing.
There’s a strange, shadowy figure lurking in the shadows, who keeps on leaving packages behind. And if you’re not careful enough, you might just end up letting said packages fall to the floor and get picked up by someone else. It’s up to you to discover what the devil is hiding and unlock the mystery of the house and the devil himself.
Game features
The Seekers Notes: Hidden Mystery game features a great detective voiceover by Michael Chiklis, reading from a book. I won’t go into details, but the voice is quite great. I especially loved his deep gravelly voice, done well.
When you start the game, you’ll be greeted by a book that tells you to look for a white feather in a black trash can. Go there, find the feather, read its ghostly story and find out who’s been haunting the house. It’s all according to the book, but the rest is up to you to uncover.
Caught my attention
The second feature that really caught my attention was the fact that you could purchase an “Unlimited Money” mod, which allows you to buy things in the game. I guess you could say you’ve been playing the “game” for ages, or something like that. Anyway, I got an unlimited money mod after I completed the game. And boy did I enjoy it.
Challenges
For example, one of the challenges in Seekers Notes: Hidden Mystery is getting information about a serial killer. To do this, you have to find a note left by the victim. However, these notes are often scattered around Ripper Street, so locating and reading one could be next to impossible unless you have an unlimited money mod.
Played as Michael
I also enjoyed the challenges in the Seekers Notes: Hidden Mystery – Ultimate Edition. This time around, I played as Michael Chiklis, and instead of reading a book, I did some “digging.” I found several objects (some in the darkroom) that hold keys to the victim’s hidden objects map.
With each map, there’s a clue to a secret location somewhere in London, such as a museum, a stage production, or an art gallery. Some of these were more difficult than others, but I felt that it added to the immersion of being in the city, and not just reading a book.
Conclusion
The game is part of the Seekers Notes: Hidden Mystery pack, which also includes the first episode of the TV show Sherlock Holmes in London, and a free demo of the whole game. If you like Adventure Time with Gadget Boy, you will love this game!
